IndustriesHome services & contractors

For the trades, the website has one job: the call.

HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling — when a homeowner searches, they are ready to hire, and the job goes to whoever answers first. We build contractor sites around that moment: click-to-call in the header, a quote form that works from a phone at the curb, and license and insurance stated where people actually look.

What owners tell us

The same problems come up in nearly every first call. If any of these sound familiar, they are exactly what the work fixes.

The site belongs to someone else

It was built years ago by a friend, or by a lead-gen vendor who still controls it — and in much of this industry, canceling means the website goes away with the company that built it. Ours is different by construction: you own the domain, the code, and the content from day one, and the registrar login is yours.

Your leads arrive pre-sold to competitors

Directory platforms routinely resell the same homeowner to several contractors at once, so every lead starts as a bidding war. A site you own earns calls nobody else gets a copy of.

No way to ask for a quote from a phone

Most homeowners find a contractor on a phone, standing next to the problem. If the number is buried and the form wants a desktop, that call goes to the next result.

Licensed and insured — but the site never says so

Homeowners screen for it before they call. If the site doesn't state license, insurance, and bonding plainly, many assume the answer is no.

What we build

A custom build on real, portable code — never a template chosen from a menu. Fixed quote before work starts, $1,500–$4,500, and you own the site and the domain from day one.

After launch, a Watchtower care plan from $99/mo keeps it fast, secure, and current — month to month, leave anytime and keep everything.

On the site

  • Click-to-call in the header on every phone screen
  • A short quote-request form — job type, photos, address — nothing that loses the lead
  • A page for every service and every town you work, written like you talk
  • License, insurance, and bonding stated plainly, where homeowners look for them
  • Project photo galleries of real work, never stock
  • Financing information for big-ticket jobs like roofs and systems
  • A review stream tied to your Google Business Profile

How ads & local SEO work here

Emergency searches — “plumber near me,” “no heat,” “roof leak” — go first to Google's Local Services Ads: pay-per-lead placements with the Google Guaranteed badge, which require a background check and license documents. We handle the setup and the paperwork; you pay Google per lead, billed by Google, in your own account.

Under that, standard Search ads catch the high-intent phrases — “roofing contractor” plus your city, “licensed electrician,” “free estimate” — while local SEO wins the map pack the slow, durable way: a complete Business Profile, steady reviews, and a real page for every service and town. Calls are the conversion, so we track calls, not just clicks.

The trades are seasonal and we plan spend that way: AC before summer, heating before winter, roofing after storms, remodels in spring. Emergency work is pure urgency — the contractor who answers after hours gets the job.

The $0-markup difference

Much of this industry bundles ads, hosting, and “leads” into one contract where the agency’s cut hides inside the ad budget — and some of it resells the same lead to several competitors at once. We run it the other way:

  • Your ads run in your own Google and Meta accounts — you keep them if you ever leave
  • Ad spend is billed direct to your card by the platforms; we never touch the media bill
  • $0 markup — our fee is a separate, flat, known number
  • A plain-terms monthly report: what was spent, what it produced, what we changed
  • Month to month, in every industry — the only reason to stay is that the work is good

Before you sign with anyone — us included — ask three questions: who owns the domain, can I export the site, and can I see the platform’s own invoice for my ads? Every answer here takes one sentence, and it’s yours, yes, and yes.

FAQ

Straight answers for home services & contractors.

The same answers you’d get on the phone — including the parts a pitch would leave out.

Do I still need a website if I get leads from Angi or Thumbtack?

Yes — for three reasons. You own it, so it can't be taken away or repriced. Lead platforms typically send the same request to several pros at once, while a call from your own site comes to you alone. And it converts the referrals you already earn: most people who hear your name from a neighbor look you up before they call, and the site is what they find.

How fast can ads start producing calls?

Search ads can produce calls within days of approval. Local Services Ads take longer to switch on because Google requires a background check and license documentation first — we manage that process. Local SEO is the slow channel: it compounds over months, which is exactly why it's worth starting now.

What does Google Guaranteed cost?

You pay Google per lead, billed directly by Google in your own account — the price varies by trade and market, and Google sets it, not us. Our management fee is a separate, flat, known number, and we take $0 markup on what you spend. You can audit both bills.

Do you write the service and city pages?

Yes. One page per service and per area you work, written in your voice and reviewed by you before it goes live. Thin, duplicated town pages don't rank and don't convert — real ones do both.
